In November 2020 I joined Bl!ndspots and REbuild REsponse in Beirut, Lebanon to document their effort to help rebuilding the city. After Beirut was tragically struck by the explosion in August 2020, this response Initiated by a group volunteers of international builders - mostly from the festival and club scene - dedicated itself to rebuild the most affected area of Beirut, that also happens to be the poorest area and home for the biggest population of refugees in the capital. What started quite spontaneously, with the recruitment of carpenters that were left with no jobs in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, is now developing into a growing long-term endeavour and becoming a part of the diverse network of organisations to support and rebuild Beirut. I want to show the faces of those helping hands and the people they are helping so we don’t forget about them and keep sending help to those who need it.
